Henreitta Marie Dive Trip
The Henrietta Marie was an English slave ship that sank off the coast of the Florida Keys in 1700 while returning to England. Originally built as a merchant vessel, the ship completed multiple voyages transporting enslaved Africans across the Atlantic during the height of the transatlantic slave trade. Today, the wreck serves as both an important archaeological site and a memorial honoring the thousands of men, women, and children who suffered through the horrors of slavery. Divers can explore the remains of the ship and visit the underwater memorial plaque placed near the wreck site, making this dive a unique combination of history, reflection, and underwater exploration.
